Call for Proposals (CFP)

At Raíces Cyber Org,

We are a collective of individuals from diverse backgrounds at Raíces Cyber Org, including women, men, non-binary individuals, allies, and advocates. Our shared objective is to address the workforce gaps in cybersecurity by enhancing our initiatives in recruiting, retaining, and promoting women in the field.

During the RaicesCon conference, we aim to ensure that our speakers reflect the inclusivity and variety within our community.

Conference Dates: Sept 27-28, 2024

Location: Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center

Submissions Open: April 19, 2024

Submissions Close: May 31, 2024; midnight EST

Notification of Status: By June 15, 2024

Instructions:

  • You must complete a form for each topic you are submitting. Please do NOT combine them.

  • Failure to complete all parts of the form will result in your submission being rejected and deleted.

  • 50 or 25-minute talks!

  • 50 Minute slots can be Talks or Panels

  • Dynamic and exciting speakers.

  • No sales pitches!

  • Student Tracks (How to Navigate the field)

  • Technical “BSIDES like Track”

  • The unique challenges and opportunities facing Latino cybersecurity professionals in the industry

  • Strategies for promoting representation and inclusion of Latino professionals in cybersecurity

  • The importance of mentorship, sponsorship, and professional development in advancing Latino cybersecurity professionals

  • The role of allies in supporting Latino cybersecurity professionals and promoting diversity and inclusion in the industry

  • The potential of the Latino cybersecurity community to drive positive change and make a lasting impact in promoting diversity and inclusion

  • The impact of emerging technologies on the Latino cybersecurity workforce and the opportunities they present for promoting diversity and inclusion

Presentations

  • First listed presenter receives complimentary registration and does not receive complimentary lodging.

  • If your talk has a Second listed presenter, they receive complimentary registration and do not receive complimentary lodging.

Panels

  • Moderator receives complimentary registration and does not receive complimentary lodging.

  • Up to three panelists receive reduced rate conference registration ($199.99) and do not receive complimentary lodging.
